Description:Job Title: Software Development EngineerJob Category: Software Development Product: (Not Product Specific) Date Posted: 01/04/2008 Job Code: 218678 Location: WA - Redmond Travel Required: Do you love the technologies MS builds, but hate how they are built? Do you desire to work on a new business, but are afraid of a mandate to use specific legacy tools, systems and processes "to get the v1 out the door"? Do you realize that a concentration in tools, process and systems yields more stable, customer focused products? Do you understand the agility of a stable product relies on a quality infrastructure? Do you want to be on a team that understands this and is dedicated to this problem space? Do you need the support of a management team who "just gets this" and is committed to making it happen? Are you excited by media technologies spanning Zune, Xbox and WinMobile in the Client/Server space? Then the eLive Infrastructure team is for you! Our mission is to make eLive engineers measurably more efficient. Through this work we value: · Re-thinking a problem over re-inventing it · Re-tooling a system over starting from scratch · Building systems that are continually usable over systems that are not We are a combined engineering team (Dev, SDE/T, Test and Build) and we approach software development as a manufacturing engineering problem rather than disjoint dev, test, build and release problems to realize significant efficiency gains from the teams we work with. Our team partners with centers of engineering excellence as well as peer eLive teams, concentrating on current business needs while keeping an eye on our long term roadmap. We have insight and say in the products we build and how we build them The ideal candidate has: 1) 8 or more years of engineering experience as either an SDE/T or SDE 2) A solid understanding of the software development life cycle 3) Shipped a number of products (successful and non-successful) 4) Passion around how systems are created, built, diagnosed, verified and released 5) Doesn't see barriers or obstacles - instead creates solutions 6) Demonstrates solid problem solving, decision making, leadership and creativity skills 7) A proficient communicator 8) Strong technical skill set 9) Desires to change Microsoft culture 10) A Computer Science or similar degree from a four year institution, or appropriate experience If you are up to the challenge, if you believe you can help and you are interested contact me.
